Many people think making pizzas is difficult and rather order a takeaway meal. There are however 3 basic and simple pizzas that anyone can make at home. Whether you’re an advanced chef or taking your first steps into baking at home.
The absolute basic: the pizza Margherita
One of the easiest pizza’s to make is the pizza Margherita. This pizza contains only a couple of ingredients, which makes it a fast and easy recipe to make at home. For the dough you need 300g flour, 200ml warm water, yeast (1 tsp), salt (1 tsp) and olive oil (1 tbsp). Put the flour into a large bowl and stir in the salt and the yeast. Pour in the warm water and olive oil and mix it with the flour, salt and yeast. Mix it until you get a soft, kneadable dough. Strew a bit of flour onto a flat surface and place the dough onto it. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and cover it with a tea towel. You can then start with the sauce. If you are a chef in the making and would rather like to use a prebaked pizza crust from Monte Pizza Crust.
Basic tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese topping
For the sauce you can use a food processor. Blend canned whole peeled tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and salt together until you get a smooth sauce. Now roll out the dough and knead it into a round shape. It is important that the dough is very thin because it will rise during baking. When you use a prebaked pizza crust, you already have a perfect thickness of the crust. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius and put the pizza crust onto a baking tray. Add the tomato sauce and scatter the cheese over the pizza and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. The result: a delicious Margherita pizza!
The hot one: Spicy pepperoni and pepper pizza
For this recipe you need pizza dough, tomato sauce, green pepper, pepperoni, chili and mozzarella and parsley. Make your pizza dough and tomato sauce the same way as mentioned for the pizza Margherita. You can also choose a prebaked crust from Monte Pizza Crust. Spread your pizza dough and sauce on a baking tray. Top your sauce with green pepper, pepperoni and chili. Sprinkle it with mozzarella and season it with parsley. Bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
